Privacy Policy

Country selection. Our hosting provider supplies an approximate country from your IP address to preselect a supported country on the homepage. This does not request GPS access or use cookies to save your selection. You can change it; VPNs and other network settings can make the estimate inaccurate.

Address search. If you type an address, ZIP code, or postcode into “find nearest,” we send that text to Photon (using OpenStreetMap data) geocoding service to turn it into map coordinates so we can sort gyms by distance. Repeated lookups may be cached for up to a day; we do not maintain a personal search history.

Your device location. If you choose “Use my location,” your browser shares your coordinates with the page to sort gyms by distance. This stays in your browser — we don’t send those coordinates to our servers or store them.

Feedback. If you submit the feedback form, we collect the email address and message (and any optional location fields) you provide, and use them only to read and respond. Submissions go directly to us — by email through Resend, or through a private team messaging webhook (such as Slack or Discord) if we’ve set one up — and aren’t stored in a database.

FightMap uses banner placements from Adsterra and ExoClick to help fund the site. Advertising is on by default in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and recognized Canadian provinces and territories outside Quebec, unless you opt out. Elsewhere, including Quebec and Canadian locations whose province or territory we cannot determine, we ask first. If we cannot determine your country, we ask before loading advertising scripts. We respect saved refusals and Global Privacy Control signals by keeping ads off. Turning off advertising does not prevent you from using FightMap. If your browser cannot save privacy choices, we keep advertising off.

Our hosting provider supplies an approximate country and, for Canadian visitors, province or territory from your IP address for this decision. We do not request GPS access for it or save the regional default as your consent. You can opt out of advertising, including sale or sharing for targeted ads, through Privacy choices.

When enabled, advertising providers and their partners may receive your IP address, browser and device information, and information about ad views and interactions. They may place or read cookies and use web beacons or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads, limit repeated ads, prevent fraud, and personalize advertising.

We host Silktide Consent Manager on FightMap to collect and remember your choice in your browser’s local storage. There is no Silktide account or hosted consent log for your visit. Your choice stays on this browser until you change it or clear site data.

Privacy choices lets you revisit your choice. Turning off advertising reloads the page if advertising scripts have started, to stop those scripts. It does not erase information already received by the advertising providers.

• Vercel — hosting. Processes standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to serve and secure the site.
• Resend — delivers feedback messages to us by email.
• Photon / OpenStreetMap — converts a typed address into map coordinates.
• OpenFreeMap & OpenStreetMap — supply the map tiles you see.

Gym listings link out to BoxRec, boxing associations, and Google search; once you follow those links, their own privacy policies apply.

We keep feedback you send only as long as needed to respond and improve FightMap. We do not provide feedback submissions to advertising providers. You can skip “find nearest” if you’d rather not share a location, or ask us to access or delete feedback you’ve sent.

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies. Blocking cookies alone does not prevent every kind of advertising data collection. You can also reject advertising through Privacy choices and continue using the map.

FightMap isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes are posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
